Commeting on supporting the STUC's rally to urge voters to reject the racism of the BNP at next week's European elections, top Liberal Democrat Euro candidate George Lyon said: "Despite political differences and sometimes heated debate between the main political parties, we are united in defeating the politics of hatred that the BNP represents

"We can not allow the BNP to creep into the political mainstream. Today people from different faiths, cultures and communities with one voice say no to racism and yes to democracy."
