Commenting on the announcement that the Health Secretary has ordered a Public Inquiry into the outbreak of C. Difficile at the Vale of Leven hospital, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:
"This Parliament called for a Public Inquiry last September. It has taken the Health Secretary over 6 months just to announce an Inquiry but she can't tell us what this inquiry will look at.
"We need to get to the bottom of why 9 people lost their lives and many more were infected with C. Difficile. If we are to learn the lessons from this tragic outbreak, the Health Secretary cannot afford any further delays."
